Chrysler Group is refusing to comply with a new Colorado law that requires reinstatement of most rejected dealerships whose former markets have been filled by another store.
Chrysler told Phil Long Denver Valuecar Inc. of suburban Denver that reinstatement or payment of compensation under the state law enacted last month would violate the U.S. and Colorado constitutions.
"Chrysler Group has no intention of offering your client reinstatement at this point, the company's lawyer wrote in an April 2 letter to Phil Long's lawyer, a copy of which Automotive News obtained.
